An emotional appropriation of space-time

Photography on dibbon, 50 cm x 80 cm, 2001.
My work, dealing essentially with the instant and the movement, consists in video creations which immerge the spectator in a polyphonic listening of the instant. It generates video-photographic installations by the bouncing of media on each other's: from drawing to sound and video, photography and modelling and, in a reversible way, from video captures to drawings and paintings. I create single channel videos and video installations which emphasize the sound in a scattered temporality. My work, consisting in drawings, photographs and video-installations, deals essentially with the instant and the movement. I created dozen of videos and I have participated in several international video festivals, exhibitions and conferences. Space can be danced. My work deals with the resonance of space by a dancing body immersed in a perceptive area which is created through its unceasing relation with its environment. In a way, It emphasizes the overwhelming role of listening to the spatiality. In 2012, I show "Meandering lines II" in a solo exhibition at the Art Positions Gallery in Marseille after "Erratic Meanderings" at the Cultural Center Una Volta in Bastia, Corsica in 2011. In 2009 I exhibit "Spect-actors" at the Porte Avion gallery and present "Erratic Meandering I" during an international conference at the College international de philosophie in Paris. In 2007 and 2006 I show videos and present my work at the United States during an international "space-art" conference and a video festival in Los Angeles and Philadelphia. In 2004-2005, I am the director of a workshop at the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Marseille. Following the attribution of the Fearless Medi@terranée Prize in 2003, she was in fact in residency there to create Internal Friction, a video, which is the first phase of a video-installation, "Ultra-relativistic e-motion" , with a dancing movement. |

μ-gravity oddity: Space-art piece. Duration:5 mn 30. 2005 Selected by the French Physical Society, in the context of the World Year of Physics under the auspices of UNESCO and UNO, exactly one hundred year after the publishing of the three revolutionary articles of Einstein on the special relativity, the quanta of light and the Brownian motion, Micro-gravity_oddity is a video-arabesque created from films and a large number of photographs taken on board the shuttle "Discovery" in January 1992 by the crew during the first International Microgravity Laboratory (IML-1). Swarming bodies, video captures, duration : 5 mn 30, 2006. |
Swarming bodies: Space-art piece. Swarming bodies is a continuation of Micro-gravity oddity first shown in Budapest in 2005. This video arabesque is created from photos of solar flares taken by the SOHO satellite, from films recorded during the first flight of the international Microgravity Laboratory (IML-1) on board Discovery and from drawings of a present set of diptychs started in 2006 entitled Spect-acteurs. They develop at the present time and I would like to draw new directions inspired by the unique environment of Giverny. In Swarming bodies fluid levitating bodies slide from macro-perceptions in euclidian spaces regulated by smooth surfaces to fluctuating states within a quantum topology. The wavy body awareness generated in the work reflects molecular vibrations, unconsciously related to gravity on earth. During these moments of osmosis between nature and consciousness, from g to µg conditions, the body, imperceptibly precessing around a kind of virtual axis, is gradually tuned to the chaotic circulation of a vibrant sensitivity. This generates an expansion of time, which produces a perception of disclination between external and internal visions, materialized in syncopated states, emerging faster than thought. |

Ultra-relativistic e-motion : video-choreographic piece for 4 dancers. Duration: nearly 1 hour - 5-6 Juillet 2005 Fondation Vasarely - Aix en Provence – France In 2004, the “Ballet Preljocaj” proposed me to create a video-installation with dancers of the compagny. I realized Ultra-relativistic_e-motion in collaboration with Harald Kritynar. I directed a video workshop during the creation of the piece in the College of Fine Arts of Marseille (Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Marseille.) The cost of the realization was 40 000 euros. Four performances took place at the Fondation Vasarely in Aix en Provence in July 2005 thanks to the exceptional support of the Ministère de l’Education et de la Recherche, The three Universities: Provence, Mediterranée and Paul Cezanne, of the CNRS, the Communauté des Communes du Pays d’Aix, of EADS, Fondation Colas and Canon.

Presently I am creating a set of modular drawings entitled “Spect-acteurs” which consists in diptychs in mixed media (China ink and oil pastels), often four drawings on two panels, mixing real places and ficticious situations connected by erratic bodies. During my last residence at Dedalo Arte in Castelfalfi I created a diptych for this set especially inspired by the place and the situation with the people around there. In the same way the last diptych of this set created in 2007 is based on the appropriation of the Corsican landscapes and the Beauty Island personality, meanderings and encounters with village people there, creating the facts that I can transform in ficticious situations by mixing them with other contexts. |
